The Cardinia Creek Regional Parklands will eventually encompass more than 600ha of parkland from Beaconsfield to Clyde on both sides of Cardinia Creek. These new, larger parklands will help protect native plants & animals & will include new conservation areas.
The Parklands will eventually link up with existing parks including Cardinia Creek Regional Park, Grasmere Wetlands, Akoonah Park, Beaconsfield Flora & Fauna Reserve, Beaconsfield Recreation Reserve, Beaconsfield Park, Manna Gum Park, Mick Morland &
Bob Burgess Reserves. You can visit some areas of the Parklands now, with new sections opening in stages, starting in 2023.
The park & wetlands are still quite new so aren't fully settled yet, and sections of the path don't have much to look at other than the fields & hills in the distance, but it's a pleasant walk that leads to one of the older parts of Berwick with some stunning houses & gardens.
The path is flat, nice & wide, mostly gravel, suitable for prams or bikes.
Due to its openness, it can get quite windy.
You can easily extend the walk by continuing past the gate, following the gravel path to a small park, or even adding in all or part of the Buchanan Rd Walk.
